Information & Rules
It is the responsibility of group leaders to ensure that campers understand and follow Urban Camp rules and procedures. Urban Camp recommends a ratio of one leader to ten campers (1:10). The group leader is responsible for camper supervision at all times.
General Information
Care should be taken within The Camp.
This means:
- Respect for each other and other Camp users
- Respect for personal, camp property and the surrounding parkland
- Food and drink are not permitted in the dormitories
- All loud noise should have ceased by 11:00 pm
- Any damage or losses to property of Urban Camp should be reported to staff
and the group may be invoiced
Security
The safety and security of our guests is a high priority of Urban Camp. In early 2019 CCTV cameras were installed along with security access points enabling restricted access to our venue at all times.
State Netball & Hockey Centre Redevelopment
The State Netball Hockey Centre (SNHC) in Parkville is currently undergoing a $64.6 million redevelopment and expansion of the SNHC.
The SNHC is a vital headquarters for netball, hosting more than 5000 participants each week for training, competition and events. Netball has been a tenant of the facility in Royal Park for nearly 80 years.
Care should be taken when moving around outside the Camp due to increased traffic on Brens Drive which is due to the upgrade over the next two years. It is suggested that access to public transport is accessed via the designated pathways surrounding the Camp. The Camp also suggests that the parklands to the north of the Camp is the best space to use for free time activities. Busses pulling up at the camp are advised to pull up out the front of the camp one at a time.
Additional information about The Camp and the Rules of The Camp is included in the Information Pack.
